This is a work in progress. There are some definite links between some areas in Cornwall e.g. The Isle of Scilly family originate in Philleigh.
The interchanging of these names is rife but has settled into a pattern by the early 1800s - but it pays to check all variations possible - even found a Hescot that belonged.
